Yes it does, steam can kill harmful microorganisms thanks to a significant temperature (110 °C nozzle exit) and a pressure between 6 and 8 bar. But there will be no persistence contrary to a combination of steam disinfection and disinfectant product.
The persistence of a product corresponds to the period during which the product will continue to be active. It can go up to several days depending on the product used. This concept is very important in disinfection as it avoids the environment to be conducive to the proliferation of harmful microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, spores, fungi ...). However, if cleaning by steam is regular, steam could disinfect surfaces.
Finally, the steam alone needs to be passed regularly on all surfaces, otherwise the lack of persistence promotes the development of harmful microorganisms.
